PUMP FAMILY
End-Suction Centrifugal Pump (ANSI B73.1)
The chemical-industry workhorse — first answer when the duty is moderate and the fluid is not extreme.
The chemical-industry workhorse: back pull-out design, standardized dimensions, wide availability of wetted materials. First choice when the duty is moderate and no zero-leak requirement exists.
The envelope
| Recommended temperature | ≤ 175 °C |
|---|---|
| Delivered-evidence ceiling | ~300 °C (special builds) |
| Sealing | Single mechanical seal, flush plan per media |
| Design basis | ANSI/ASME B73.1 |
Where it is used
- Clean or lightly contaminated fluids: water, dilute acids and alkalis, light solvents
- Transfer, circulation and process duty at flows up to about 400 m³/h
- Any installation where parts standardisation and fast overhaul matter (back pull-out design)
Where it stops
- Above 400 m³/h or 130 m head the standard single-stage envelope ends — larger duties are engineered builds, not catalogue picks
- Temperatures past 175 °C move the duty into cooled or API-class territory
- No intrinsic zero-leak containment — a mechanical seal is the leak point for hazardous media
Delivered special end-suction builds with cooling arrangements reach about 300 °C; the standard recommendation zone ends at 175 °C.
